The first international wine fair was organized by the partner countries, founders of the Open Balkans initiative - Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, in Belgrade from September 1 to 4 at the Belgrade Fair.
This manifestation will be an ideal opportunity to present wine producers and wineries from the entire region to the widest audience and thus ensure even greater visibility on the market. Also, this is an opportunity for all exhibitors to meet, share their experiences and network with distributors and representatives of complementary industries.
Our winery also took part in the fair, with great success. Our Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 wine won a gold medal, while the Italian Riesling 2020 won a silver medal!
In our winery, a gathering of sommeliers, distributors and journalists took place as part of a promotional tour, which took place on the territory of Timočka Krajina, organized by the Association of Winemakers and Vinegrowers of Negotinska Krajina. Guests had the opportunity to learn about the work of the winery and tour the cellars where all the magic of producing the finest aromas of Gamanović wine takes place. Along with the tasting of wine from the rich offer of the winery and delicious local specialties, accompanied by the sounds of the guitar, the girls of KUD Polet also contributed to the pleasant atmosphere, who instantly conveyed the spirit, tradition and hospitality recognizable for the region of eastern Serbia.Read more
Grašac, stronger than destiny, is the most adequate description of what happened during one week in June on Fruška gora, in Novi Sad and Petrovaradin, where the first Grašac Festival was held, the great international evaluation GROW du Monde and the press trip, all dedicated to the variety known as Grašac, Graševina, Laški Riesling, Riesling Italico, Olaszriesling, RyzlingVlassky…
On June 10, about 40 wine producers from this variety from Serbia, the region and Hungary gathered at the Petrovaradin Fortress to cross the somewhat anathematized Italian Riesling variety and almost officially cross it into Grašac, at least in our area.
In addition to all the well-known labels, there were also those that brought a top surprise. Winery Gamanović from Kladovo in a still unlabeled bottle offers barricaded peas of exceptional quality. The visitor from Russia firmly accepted the bottle, we were hardly convinced to share the last sips. After six months in the barrel, it is a very interesting wine with a certain specific weight of complexity with that fine touch of wood and delicate aroma of resin. They have only two barrels and they plan to keep it in the Serbian oak for another three months, although it seems to us that it is already ready to be a real hit. In the meantime, they also offer stainless steel peas from the same vintage, a different but also beautiful wine in which the herbal notes are pleasantly expressed.
